Saturday's Warrior

As far as I knew I'd never been desired sexually by anyone before. I had only know desiring others. The idea that someone who was so much older and more beautiful could want me was amazing. I was certainly not as mature and developed as some of the other girls. But the fact that he had shown some attraction to me made me feel attractive.

I started trying to think of ways to get him alone again. The simplest would be just to go out on a date with him, but even if he were to ask me out, my parents wouldn't let me go since I wasn't sixteen yet. I could try to convince him to go off somewhere with me during a rehearsal, but there was nowhere private we could go where we wouldn't be discovered in the stake center. I thought perhaps we could arrange to secretly meet somewhere at another time, but I wasn't sure where or how to suggest it to him.

I then realized that I had finished watering all of the rosebushes without really being aware of what I was doing. I looked over at the back porch of the house and saw Sister Sanderson coming out and slowly walking towards her beloved rosebushes, leaning on her cane with each step. I went over and took her arm and let her lean on me.

"Thank you, dearie," she said, as I led her to the garden. She inspected the rosebushes one by one and commented on them, giving me additional instructions as to which branches to prune and which plant products to apply to which ones. Then she had me cut some roses for her to enjoy inside the house, and I led her back. I carried out the instructions she had given me, and then I put away the sprinkler from the vegetable garden and went home.

At Thursday's rehearsal, I was breathless with anticipation to see Walter again. He greeted me with a warm smile, but in fact it wasn't that much different from usual. I had made a point to wear a shorter skirt and a tighter blouse, and a few times I could have sworn I caught him looking, but I wasn't sure. He took time to chat with me between takes, but not any more frequently or affectionately than he ordinarily did.

EXMORMON

I got the impression that that whole incident at the previous rehearsal really wasn't that big a deal for him. It was crazy that it was such a fixation for me. I absolutely had to come up with a way to get him alone again.
