Saturday's Warrior
He rolled onto his back as he continued. "The thing is that you know I'm going to be starting at BYU in the fall. Nobody thought I could do it, given the way my mom raised me. The whole ward is proud of me. My uncle is proud of me. I've already passed my worthiness interview with the bishop. I'm not sure I want to turn that into a lie at this point unless... unless I'm sure that this is going to be a serious relationship, and I'm not sure that it is."
I held his hand in my hand and squeezed it. "It's your call," I said.
He took a deep breath and got out of bed and went over to the bathroom. He was in there for some time, and then he silently came back and got into the bed on his own side, facing away from me.
I put my arm around him and held him. I kissed him once on the neck just below the ear and once on the forehead. Then I went back to my own side of the bed and went to sleep.
