"Did you mean it?" asked Alexandra.
"Of course," said Claire, seeming a bit annoyed.
"That's really cool," said Alexandra, "because my sister and I are having a slumber party at our house on Friday, and you can come if you like."
Claire thought about it for a bit and said "I don't know... I don't think I can make it." Then Isabel whispered something to Claire, and they both laughed and walked away.
"Don't worry about those jerks," I said to Alexandra. "We'll have a great slumber party without them."
"Yeah," agreed Alexandra half-heartedly.
When I got home from church, I went to my room and started thinking about that testimony meeting. I felt like it was wrong that I didn't have a real testimony to bear as I should. I decided to set a goal right then and there to try to gain one.
The first step was to try to be more righteous in general. I got down my journal off the shelf. It was a pink hard-bound volume that was about a third of the way filled. But when I saw that I hadn't written in it in over a year and a half, I decided that I need to start fresh, so I got out a blank spiral notebook from my parents' study and started writing.
