Young Women's
On the first page I wrote the date and my list of long-term goals: a temple marriage, and eventually to be worthy to enter the Celestial Kingdom. Then I started listing my short-term goals to get there.
I thought about feeling angry at Claire and Isabel at church, so the first goal I wrote was "1. Be more forgiving."
Then I thought some more and wrote "2. Obey my parents willingly," and "3. Love my sisters (don't fight with them)." Continuing, I wrote "4. Study the scriptures, 5. Write in my journal regularly." I underlined "regularly" three times.
Then I wrote the most important goal of all: "6. Pray for a testimony."
Fast Sunday was coming up in two weeks. I set a goal to be ready to stand up in front of the ward and bear my testimony.
It was a pretty ambitious goal considering that on some level I'd been trying to gain a testimony my whole life. But I figured that putting a concrete time frame on it would help me focus and really get there. I was sure to succeed.
